The course aims to enable the students to develop a comprehensive understanding of the various dimensions of public policy and the role of governance in its implementation. The major objective of the program is to provide students with intellectual insights, critical perspectives, professional competence, and analytical tools crucial to their understanding of the field of public policy and public administration.
BA (Hons) Public Policy & Administration, analyses real world issues in public policy and public administration in context to such as poverty, social exclusion and global governance. It centers on understanding and addressing public issues in society and examines the formation and implementation of policy, and how this affects people’s wellbeing. As a multidisciplinary subject, it draws on theories and expertise from sociology, psychology, politics and economics.
The BA (Hons) Public Policy & Administration aims to provide a thorough understanding of how policies are formulated and implemented in industrialised societies, transition economies and the Global South. The programme takes a comparative, local, provincial and national and contemporary perspective: investigating the changing role of states, the non-profit sector, the market and informal providers like families and communities in producing social welfare.
